New media

An immersive light installation in a dark room, consisting of thousands of vertically suspended blue and white LEDs, creates the effect of a three-dimensional, starry space enclosed within a metal structure.
This is an interdisciplinary field where digital technologies intersect with culture, art, and design. It encompasses new forms of artistic creation such as interactive installations, animations, and digital art. It also relies on modern tools for creating, presenting, and distributing content, including mobile applications and immersive media. It utilises artificial intelligence, generative tools, AR, VR, and MR technologies, as well as game engines. This field represents a modern form of storytelling and experience design. It brings together expertise in the fields of art, technology, design, programming, film, music, architecture, and education. As a result, it creates a space for collaboration across the entire creative sector.

How are New Media Transforming the Creative Sector?

The development of new media is transforming the way the entire sector operates. Digital technologies accompany us at every stage of content creation, distribution and promotion.

Creative professionals are increasingly undertaking projects at the intersection of technologies that:

  • engage audiences in an interactive way,
  • use data collected in real time,
  • enable experiences that cannot be achieved through traditional media.

What Areas Do We Support At the PK?

Today, new media are not merely channels of communication. Above all, they are tools for design, production, distribution and building of relationships with audiences. At IPK, we target our activities at various industries and experts who drive the creative sector forward through modern solutions.

Discover the Main Pillars of Our Work

  • promotion and dissemination of new technologies: we carry out projects demonstrating the practical application of new media; one example is FUTUREMODE – the European Fashion Innovation Hub, where we showcase their use in design and trend forecasting
  • showcasing of Polish artists: we promote Polish artists on the global stage; among other things, we organised the ‘Elusive Sense’ exhibition, which will be presented in London and Bristol in 2025
  • partnerships at key events: we support initiatives dedicated to new media and their impact on the industry. These include Scena Jutra, the Kraków AI Biennale and New Media Week in Katowice.
