As an industry, music brings together creativity, heritage, technology, and entrepreneurship. It is underpinned by individual artists, as well as strong institutions and festivals. Poland possesses exceptional musical assets and export potential. The music market plays a significant role both in economic growth and in building cultural identity, fostering communities, and promoting a positive image of Poland on the international stage.

The Growing Importance of Polish Music

The Polish music sector is gaining an increasingly strong position. Data from the Audio-Video Producers’ Association show that the value of the Polish music market is growing at a rate of 14.2 per cent year-on-year, reaching nearly PLN 971 million in 2025. This has enabled Poland to rise to 16th place in the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry’s global ranking. This growth rate was more than double the global average.

The contemporary music market is shaped by a broad range of industry stakeholders: those involved in creation, production, publishing and management. It also comprises digital platforms, start-ups, organisers of live events and supporting institutions. Today, it is characterised by the growing importance of streaming, which now accounts for most of the industry’s revenue. The vinyl record segment, which offers a collector’s experience of music, is also growing rapidly.

Key Areas of the IPK Support and Activity

At the Creative Industries Institute (IPK), we strive to strengthen and professionalise the Polish music sector. We are committed to projects that respond to the industry’s real needs, which is why, amongst other things, we monitor technological changes and new business models. We then translate our knowledge into practical support for the industry and the development of a modern music ecosystem in Poland.

Main areas in which we operate:

  • professionalisation and skills development: we facilitate access to knowledge by organising conferences and workshops such as Music Lab, in collaboration with Music Tech Poland, Soundedit, Women Classical Music , the Great September showcase festival and Warsaw Music Week;
  • networking, including cross-sector collaboration: we bring together creative and technical professionals, for example during events in the MeetUp65 series, and connect musicians with the video game and film industries (Warsaw Music Week)
  • promotion in Poland and abroad: we are increasing the presence of Polish music on the global market by supporting and helping organise events such as Polish Music Day, and by collaborating with Music Export Poland, the Music Poland Foundation.

Our Target Audiences

Our activities are primarily aimed at artists. To support the industry’s development, we collaborate with experts. Our activities form part of the development strategy for the Polish music market drawn up by the Polish Music Market Council. We provide financial support in the areas of professionalisation, networking, promotion and research through our own programme, Muzyka aktualna. We believe that the development of Polish music is based on cooperation between diverse communities, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the creation of conditions conducive to innovative solutions.
