Polish Video Game Days

The Polish video games industry is one of the most important sectors of the country’s creative industries. There are over 800 game developers and publishers in Poland. The sector employs around 15,000 specialists and generates over PLN 5.5 billion in revenue. As many as 97 per cent of Polish games are sold on foreign markets, making this industry one of the most export-oriented segments of the Polish economy.

Today, video games are not only a technological and commercial product, but also a fully-fledged cultural medium – combining art, storytelling, music, design and new technologies. Polish productions reach audiences all over the world, becoming an important vehicle for knowledge about Poland, its history, culture and creative innovation.

The concept behind Polish Video Game Days

Polish Video Game Days (DPGW) is a multifaceted initiative combining promotion, culture, education and business. Its aim is to showcase the scale and diversity of the domestic video game sector and its significance for contemporary Polish culture and the economy.

The concept for this annual event was conceived in 2025 during the Polish Game Development Round Table in Poznań, organised by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The Creative Industries Institute is responsible for preparation and implementation of the project, in collaboration with Polish game development studios and industry organisations.

The programme comprises activities taking place simultaneously in the digital, urban, exhibition and educational spheres. Their common aim is to demonstrate that Polish games are not only successful export products, but also an important part of contemporary culture.

Programme

Immersive exhibition ‘From Poland to a Million Worlds’

The free immersive exhibition ‘From Poland to a Million Worlds’, open to the public from November until 15 December 2026, will allow visitors to step into the worlds of Poland’s most significant games and discover their characters, aesthetics and the behind-the-scenes story of their creation in a physical space. This is a must-see for everyone – not just for video game fans.

The Polish Video Games Trail

Sculptures depicting characters from games will appear in Polish cities, marking locations reflected in virtual worlds or linked to the history of the industry. The locations will be linked to the towns where individual titles were developed (including Bytom, Mistów, Wrocław and Warsaw). At the same time, a map will be created to enable visitors to explore Poland via a trail of home-grown productions.

Central & Eastern European Game Awards (CEEGA)

This is the most prestigious award for video games in Central and Eastern Europe, showcasing titles from 16 countries across the region. This year’s final gala will take place on 23 October in Poznań, once again forming an official part of the PGA trade fair and the Game Industry Conference. Further information about the award can be found on the project’s website and at ceega.eu.

The campaign will be accompanied by special offers and an international marketing campaign featuring influencers and is aimed at gamers from around the world.

‘Join the Game: 40 Years of Polish Games’ exhibition
