The initiative is aimed at duos comprising craftspeople and designers who collaborate to create original concepts and develop brands based on local cultural heritage and a sustainable approach to design.
The FachLab programme will comprise a series of workshops and mentoring sessions, webinars and digital documentation of creative processes, which will be available on the fachlab.pl platform. The project is run in a hybrid format, combining in-person meetings at Creative Industries Institute with an online educational programme.
Programme participants will develop skills related to design, brand building and the use of traditional craft techniques in contemporary fashion. Key objectives of the initiative include preservation of disappearing craft techniques, promotion of responsible and ethical fashion, building of digital and environmental skills within the creative sectors, as well as development of a knowledge base on contemporary craftsmanship and bringing of products ready for commercialisation to market.
The culmination of FachLab will be a conference summarising the results of several months’ collaboration between craftspeople and designers. The programme will include: a presentation of the initiative’s development plans for 2026, an intimate fashion show showcasing the created designs, and expert panel discussions on the future of craftsmanship, fashion and the creative industries.
FachLab will become a space that brings together knowledge, experience and innovation, supporting the development of new models of collaboration between craftspeople, designers and representatives of the creative sector.
FachLab is organised in collaboration with the Kraina Foundation.
