Sustainable Fashion and Integration: 2nd ReFashioned Finale at IPK

On September 25, our Institute will become the center of Polish responsible fashion. We invite you to the grand finale of the second edition of the ReFashioned program—an event crowning months of work by creators from migrant backgrounds. Among those hitting the runway as models are Minister Marta Cienkowska, Sylwia Chutnik, and Mariusz Szczygieł.

On the left, there is large white text reading "REFASHIONED" set against a pink background, while a purple element displaying the number 26 appears on the right.

ReFashioned

ReFashioned, an initiative organized by the Kraina Foundation, is a unique project combining psychosocial support with professional development in the fashion industry. It treats design not only as a creative space for telling personal stories, but above all as a tool for integration. This initiative proves that true balance in fashion implies not only ecological textiles, but also providing a space for diverse voices.

Over the past few months, thirteen designers from Ukraine, Belarus, and Poland have been working under the guidance of outstanding mentors to create their own original collections. Utilizing second-hand materials and ready-made clothes, their task was to source the most interesting textiles from a sorting plant, recognize their potential, and transform them into innovative designs. The final show will be a story that weaves together traditional and modern craftsmanship techniques.

I am delighted that we can be part of such an important and innovative project, supporting the professional development of designers while telling a story of diversity, identity, and the power of creativity. Polish fashion is also about the ability to create value from seemingly ordinary materials and to turn constraints into creative solutions. It is precisely for initiatives like ReFashioned that the Creative Industries Institute exists."
Aleksandra Szymańska, Director of the Creative Industries Institute
